Google announces new Gemini models, Gemini Robotics ER 2, and AlphaEvolve

Google announced a series of AI updates and product releases. The updates introduce three new Gemini models, which are Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber, designed to provide high token efficiency and low latency for scaling production agents. Google also launched Gemini Robotics ER 2, an embodied reasoning model that helps robots interact with people and solve physical, multi-step tasks.

For developers and cloud customers, Google made AlphaEvolve generally available on the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform to optimize code and find efficient algorithms. Additional software updates include the expansion of Gemini Spark to handle complex web errands, the integration of Gemini Notebook with a secure cloud computer, and the Lyria 3.5 music generation model powering Google Flow Music. Furthermore, Android 17 introduces a native migration experience for transferring data wirelessly from an iPhone during the launch of Samsung's Galaxy Z Series.

Google also highlighted several real-world applications of its technology, including a partnership with BlackRock, Carhartt, and Ford to launch the Alliance for America’s Skilled Trades. NOAA is modernizing its supercomputing system using Google Cloud virtual machines to improve weather forecasts, and three new FireSat satellites launched to help detect wildfires early. Additional projects include using Google DeepMind technology to reconstruct Pelé's lost goal and sharing bioresilience measures with Isomorphic Labs to protect global communities.
