Gemini can now take notes in Google Meet for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.
Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can now use a new note-taking feature within Google Meet on both web and mobile devices. This tool uses Gemini to automatically transcribe conversations and generate summaries that include key action items. The feature is available for meetings hosted by eligible subscribers and business customers in select languages.
To use the tool, hosts can click the pencil icon during a live call or enable it permanently through the meeting settings. Once activated, Gemini works in the background to capture the discussion. After the meeting concludes, the system automatically saves the notes to a Google Doc in the user's Google Drive and sends a recap email containing the summary and action items to the host.
This feature is designed to help participants stay focused on the conversation rather than manual documentation. By automating the process of tracking next steps and client requests, it ensures that important details are organized and easily accessible after the call ends. All participants are notified whenever the note-taking feature is enabled to ensure transparency during the meeting.
