Introducing Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber

Google has introduced Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, a new generation of reasoning and coding models designed for agentic workflows and cybersecurity. Gemini 3.8 Flash is positioned as an intelligent workhorse for software engineering and multi-step reasoning across specialized fields like finance, law, and STEM. It maintains the speed and cost of the previous 3.7 Flash release, priced at $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens, and achieves high performance by executing extra reasoning steps and iterative tool calls on complex tasks.

The second variant, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, is a specialized cybersecurity model focused on vulnerability detection and automated patching. It achieves frontier-level performance on benchmarks such as CyberGym and CWE-Bench, outperforming several larger models while operating at a lower cost. Google is already applying this model internally, with teams in Chrome, Cloud Vulnerability Research, and partner companies like Wiz using it to find critical vulnerabilities and generate correct patches.

To prevent misuse, Gemini 3.8 Flash includes safety safeguards against CBRN risks and cyber offense, and features improved prompt-injection robustness. Meanwhile, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber contains more permissive cybersecurity mitigations and is restricted to trusted defenders, government authorities, and critical infrastructure operators through a newly launched Fairwind Program. Gemini 3.8 Flash is available immediately for developers, enterprise users, and consumers across various Google applications and APIs.
