Introducing Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber

Google has released Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, introducing next-generation reasoning and coding capabilities designed for agentic workflows and cybersecurity. Gemini 3.8 Flash is an intelligent workhorse model priced at seventy-five cents per million input tokens and three dollars and seventy-five cents per million output tokens. It outperforms previous versions and many larger frontier models on software engineering, multi-step reasoning, finance, and legal tasks by executing extra reasoning steps and iterative tool calls.

The second variant, Gemini 3.8 Flash Cyber, is a specialized cybersecurity model offering frontier-level performance in vulnerability detection and automated patching. It achieves a success rate exceeding seventy percent in discovering vulnerabilities across complex codebases spanning twenty programming languages, and scores forty-seven point two percent on CWE-Bench for patching capabilities. Google is using this model internally to secure code, helping the Chrome Security team produce more correct patches and enabling the Cloud Vulnerability Research team to find a critical foundational vulnerability in under two hours.

Both models share a foundational intelligence accelerated by long-running agentic loops and rigorous training in cybersecurity. Gemini 3.8 Flash includes built-in safeguards against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and cyber offense misuse, alongside strong robustness against prompt-injection attacks. Meanwhile, the cyber variant features more permissive mitigations and is restricted to trusted defenders, government authorities, and critical infrastructure operators through the Fairwind Program.

Gemini 3.8 Flash is available immediately for developers, enterprise users, and consumers across various Google applications, developer tools, and subscription tiers.
