Start the semester with one year of Gemini, on us

Google is offering eligible college students around the world one year of free access to its advanced AI plans. Students in the United States can receive one year of Google AI Pro at no cost, which includes higher usage limits, integration with Google apps like Gmail and Docs, five terabytes of storage, and Google Health Premium. Eligible students outside the United States receive one year of Google AI Plus for free, offering increased usage limits and four hundred gigabytes of storage. Additionally, a discounted bundle combining Google AI Pro and a YouTube Premium subscription is available for up to seventy percent off.

To support the back-to-school season, Google has launched a dedicated student hub within the Gemini app at gemini.google.com/students. This hub centralizes new and enhanced study tools designed to help students organize syllabi, track assignment deadlines, and build custom study plans. Users can upload lecture notes into study notebooks that generate diagnostic quizzes, custom bite-sized lessons, and progress dashboards. Gemini can also automatically schedule key exam and assignment dates into Google Calendar from course syllabi.

The updated app introduces interactive 3D visualizations, enabling students to explore complex subjects through functional simulations, such as rotating 3D DNA structures or interactive data tables. Furthermore, Deep Research is now integrated into Gemini Live, allowing students to conduct comprehensive, multi-step research reports asynchronously while chatting hands-free. These offerings aim to serve as a personalized study assistant to help students navigate their coursework throughout the academic year.
