Swedish startup raises $16.5 million to make CNC machines more intelligent
Swedish startup IPercept has raised 16.5 million dollars in venture funding to make computer numerical control, or CNC, machines more intelligent. The investment round is supported by backers including 2150, with the capital intended to help the company scale its operations into the United States.
The company uses specialized technology that converts micrometre-scale motion into component-level condition data. This system operates without needing any connection to the machine controller or the customer internal IT network.
By using this approach, manufacturers can track component wear and determine wear rates in real time. This visibility allows operators to take specific maintenance actions before production stops, which helps improve overall productivity and extends the operational life of critical industrial assets.
