Salesforce buys Sweden-founded Listen Labs in $2B AI deal

Salesforce is acquiring Listen Labs, an artificial intelligence startup founded in 2023 by Swedish entrepreneur Alfred Wahlforss and Germany's Florian Juengermann, for approximately two billion dollars. Although the companies did not disclose financial terms, Business Insider reported the purchase price weeks before the official announcement.

Listen Labs uses advanced language models to conduct automated interviews with hundreds of people at the same time through voice, text, and video. The software then automatically compiles the gathered insights, providing a modern alternative to traditional market and user research methods.

This acquisition represents an exceptionally fast exit for Listen Labs, coming roughly three years after its founding, and delivers a value more than four times higher than its early valuation. The deal highlights a broader trend of major enterprise software companies paying high prices to quickly integrate fast-growing artificial intelligence startups into their existing platforms before those firms can raise additional independent funding.
