Siemens: AI skills have become a competitive parameter

Siemens regards artificial intelligence as a core competence and a decisive competitive parameter for the future workplace, rather than a standalone digitalization project. According to Andreea Balasiu, Head of Business Unit at Siemens Denmark, the technology is not meant to replace humans but rather to empower them, creating the greatest value when technology and professional expertise collaborate to solve concrete challenges.

To build these essential skills, Siemens invests broadly in upskilling through training programs, designated AI champions, and the practical use of tools such as SiemensGPT and agentic AI. The company applies industrial foundational models and AI agents to help optimize manufacturing processes, predict errors, and reduce unplanned operational downtime.

Balasiu emphasizes that mastering these competencies is crucial not only for Siemens's own productivity but also for delivering the solutions that customers will demand moving forward. Furthermore, platforms like the Confederation of Danish Industry can serve as strong environments for cross-industry knowledge sharing, helping Denmark translate artificial intelligence into growth and competitiveness more rapidly as more businesses learn from one another.
