Denmark buys nine military robots from Ukrainian-founded company
Denmark has purchased nine military robots from Dropla Tech, a company founded by four Ukrainians in 2023 with headquarters in Odense and research and development units in Ukraine. The acquisition allows the Danish drone center to test unmanned ground vehicles and determine how the technology might be used by the Armed Forces in the future.
Dropla Tech specializes in artificial intelligence-based solutions for threat detection and autonomous mine clearance. Its flagship product is the Blue Eyes system, which is an autonomous explosive ordnance detection system powered by artificial intelligence models trained on real combat data. In August 2025, the company secured 2.4 million euros in investment from the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, Maj Invest, and Final Frontier.
According to the Danish military, these deployment plans are informed by Ukraine's operational experience alongside Denmark's previous testing of unmanned ground vehicles. Colonel Thomas Ogendaal Knudsen, head of the Land Division at FMI, emphasized that unmanned systems are evolving at a fast pace, making it essential for the military to gain practical experience with them immediately and integrate the technology into soldier training.
