AI surges into Danish workplaces without management direction, experts warn
Artificial intelligence is rapidly entering Danish workplaces largely without management direction, leaving employees to figure out its use on their own. A new study by the think tank Mandag Morgen shows that six out of ten employees use artificial intelligence for a small portion of their work tasks, while one in five does not use it at all.
Four out of ten employees report that company leadership fails to set a clear direction for how artificial intelligence should be implemented and used. This lack of guidance shifts the responsibility entirely onto individual workers, which creates uncertainty and insecurity across organizations.
Experiences with leadership involvement vary wildly from a single email or a brief video to receiving no communication at all. In one documented instance, an employee was simply told they suddenly had access to Copilot without any further instruction or context.
This situation matters because the uncontrolled and unguided surge of artificial intelligence into daily operations places an undue burden on staff. Without proper management frameworks, the full potential of these tools remains unorganized and creates unnecessary workplace anxiety.
