AI storming into workplaces creates uncertainty without management direction

A new study from the think tank Mandag Morgen reveals that artificial intelligence is rapidly entering workplaces, but management often fails to provide clear guidelines. While six out of ten employees use artificial intelligence for a small part of their work tasks, twenty percent do not use it at all.

Four out of ten employees report that their management has not set a direction for how to use artificial intelligence. This leaves the responsibility entirely up to the individual worker, which creates insecurity and uncertainty across workplaces.

Communication from management regarding the adoption of new technology varies wildly, ranging from a single email or video to employees simply being told they suddenly have access to tools like Copilot, or receiving no information at all.

This lack of leadership direction matters because it shifts the burden of implementing new technology onto individual employees, creating widespread anxiety and an uncoordinated approach to artificial intelligence in professional settings.
