AI storming into workplaces as experts issue warning
A new study from the think tank Mandag Morgen reveals that artificial intelligence is rapidly entering workplaces. Six out of ten employees use artificial intelligence for a smaller part of their work tasks, while one in five respondents stated that they do not use it at all.
At the same time, four out of ten employees experience a lack of direction from management regarding how to use the technology. This absence of clear guidance shifts the responsibility directly onto individual workers and creates insecurity across workplaces.
Employees report vastly different experiences with how their leadership handles the introduction of artificial intelligence, ranging from receiving a brief email or a video to getting no information at all. In one instance, an employee was simply told they now had access to Copilot.
This situation matters because the uncoordinated rollout leaves workers to navigate new technology on their own without institutional support or clear boundaries. This lack of leadership oversight risks creating workplace anxiety and unequal implementation across organizations.
