EIFO and Danica invest in billion-krone defence tech fund targeting AI

The DTCP Defence Fund I is a billion-krone venture targeting critical technologies to strengthen European security, sovereignty, and resilience. Led by partners Ole Aguirre and Georgia Watson, the fund focuses on artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, cyber defense, secure communication, and space technology. Backing for the fund includes investments from Danica and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, known as EIFO.

The fund has already directed capital toward two key defense technology companies in Europe. One investment is in Six Robotics, a Norwegian firm that creates software for autonomous systems and drone swarms, which plans to establish part of its operations in Denmark by 2026 with previous backing from EIFO. The other investment is in Kraken Technology Group, a British company that builds advanced unmanned maritime platforms and payloads.

This fund arrives as Europe rapidly builds up its defense capabilities, relying increasingly on artificial intelligence, drones, and satellites to protect the continent and its critical infrastructure. By channeling investments into specialized technology startups, the initiative directly supports the development of modern defense tools necessary for navigating current geopolitical challenges.
