Novo Nordisk Partners With Anthropic to Use Claude in Drug R&D
Novo Nordisk has partnered with Anthropic to use the Claude artificial intelligence model for drug research, development, and software tasks. This agreement makes the Danish pharmaceutical company part of a growing group of drugmakers adopting Anthropic technology for scientific purposes.
Alongside these commercial partnerships, Anthropic is expanding its own internal life-sciences operations by running biological experiments in its lab. As part of this push, Anthropic acquired the biotech AI startup Coefficient Bio.
The acquired startup brought a team specializing in technology for planning drug research, managing regulatory strategies, and identifying new drug opportunities. While media reports estimated the stock deal was worth roughly 400 million dollars, Anthropic confirmed the acquisition without disclosing the financial terms.
