Danish AI Platform to Give Researchers Control Over Data and Models

Danish universities are launching a new national artificial intelligence platform called UCloud AI. The system combines advanced language models, supercomputing power, and secure data processing into a single infrastructure. Initially, the platform will be available to researchers and students across all eight of Denmark's universities simply by using their standard university login.

The initiative aims to reduce the reliance of Danish institutions on commercial artificial intelligence providers, giving researchers greater control over their data and models. Furthermore, UCloud AI integrates directly with Danish Foundation Models, a national research effort dedicated to developing open language models tailored to the Danish language.

This integration allows the same underlying infrastructure to be used for multiple stages of work, including the development, testing, and practical application of artificial intelligence tools. By combining these capabilities, the platform provides a unified environment specifically designed to support academic research within the country.
