Dansk minister deltager i FN-møde om risici ved kunstig intelligens

Top executives from leading artificial intelligence companies, along with AI pioneer Yoshua Bengio, briefed the United Nations Security Council on the potential risks of AI development. OpenAI director Sam Altman stated that the industry must not accept excessive technological risk just because the benefits are large, and he emphasized that important decisions should be shaped through democratic processes and international cooperation rather than solely in San Francisco laboratories. Anthropic director Dario Amodei warned that poor handling of AI could pose a risk to humanity as a whole, noting that an Anthropic developer recently resigned over safety concerns. Political voices such as Senator Bernie Sanders and former President Barack Obama have also called for technology regulation.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen attended the meeting and stated that the tension between important opportunities and risks defines one of the most pressing challenges of the present time. Dansk Industri expressed hope that the briefing could mark the start of concrete global recognition that controlling advanced AI systems is a shared security issue rather than merely a race to win. Meanwhile, at the UN General Assembly, US President Donald Trump rejected any attempt to construct a global order to control AI, stating that the United States will promote rather than rein in the technology, which the US will henceforth refer to as superintelligence.
