Artificial intelligence is making businesses significantly more efficient, but the technology is increasingly taking over the entry level tasks that young graduates traditionally relied on to enter the job market. At the Odense based startup Velatir, artificial intelligence has made it harder for newly graduated job seekers to get their foot in the door.

Michael Blicher Sørensen, the chief executive officer and co-founder of Velatir, warns that a current lack of junior hires poses a long term threat to the labor market. Specifically, the reduction in entry level positions today risks creating a future shortage of experienced specialists, as young professionals miss out on early career development.

At the same time, companies across the board are aggressively chasing the exact same narrow profiles, intensifying competition for available roles. This dynamic leaves many new graduates struggling to find employment despite the overall productivity gains driven by new technology.
