NATO Innovation Fund co-leads €11M investment in Swedish defence tech outfit Terasi
Stockholm-based defence technology startup Terasi has secured an eleven million euro seed investment in a funding round co-led by the NATO Innovation Fund and Join Capital. Additional participation came from new investors In-Q-Tel and D3, along with several returning investors. Terasi originated as a spinout from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
The company manufactures pocket-sized hardware components designed to transmit large amounts of data at high frequencies. This technology creates secure wireless links operating at gigabit speeds without requiring traditional fibre-optic cables or transmission towers. Terasi describes itself as the sole European manufacturer capable of delivering flexible wireless communication systems suited for contested environments while maintaining security, deployability, and high-speed capacity.
Terasi intends to use the new capital to scale its technology for European armed forces, expand its workforce, and develop additional products. The applications of this technology extend to military operations, satellite systems, emergency communications, and critical civilian infrastructure. As hybrid threats increasingly target fixed networks, the demand for resilient, mobile communication tools that function independently of traditional infrastructure has grown significantly.
