Icelandic audio simulation startup lands $18 million to expand in the US
Icelandic startup Treble Technologies has raised eighteen million dollars in a Series A-two funding round led by Paladin Capital Group, bringing its total funding to thirty-six million euros. Existing investors KOMPAS VC, Frumtak Ventures, and the European Innovation Council Fund also participated in the round, which will help the company expand into the United States and grow its audio applications for consumer, enterprise, and industrial markets.
Treble develops an acoustic simulation, digital twin, and synthetic data platform that models how sound behaves in various physical environments. The technology allows developers to test audio-enabled products and artificial intelligence systems, such as wearables, humanoid robots, and autonomous vehicles, without needing expensive real-world recordings and physical prototypes. By digitally replicating acoustic conditions like room configurations, materials, and background noise, the platform generates realistic audio datasets that help developers evaluate performance and test edge cases.
This technology matters because modern physical artificial intelligence systems increasingly need to interpret both visual and auditory information to operate effectively in complex real-world environments. Traditional testing and data collection methods can take months, but Treble's physics-accurate modeling allows companies like Amazon and Logitech to complete evaluations in days. This accelerates product development cycles, improves the reliability of voice interfaces, and helps intelligent machines better navigate the acoustic challenges of the physical world.
