Novo Partners With Anthropic to Accelerate Drug Development Using AI

The Danish pharmaceutical company Novo, formerly known as Novo Nordisk and known for making Ozempic, has partnered with Anthropic to accelerate the creation of new medicines using artificial intelligence. This collaboration aims to shorten the overall timelines required to bring new treatments to market.

This partnership expands Anthropic's growing footprint within the life sciences sector. Earlier, in May 2026, Anthropic partnered with Bristol Myers Squibb to integrate its AI model, Claude, across multiple operations including research, clinical development, manufacturing, commercial activities, and corporate functions.

The broader Danish life sciences and technology ecosystem has also been scaling up its computational capabilities. In 2024, the Novo Nordisk Foundation collaborated with Nvidia and the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark to establish the Danish Centre for AI Innovation, which operates Gefion, Denmark's first AI-ready supercomputer.
