AI assistants create new data protection challenges, warns Datatilsynet

The rapid development and deployment of artificial intelligence assistants, such as Copilot and Claude, are dramatically increasing the complexity of data protection and compliance work.

Datatilsynet warns that the introduction of these new tools creates significant data protection challenges and headaches for organizations. Despite the rapid technological advancements and the rising complexity, regulatory requirements must not be relaxed.

GDPR lawyers also emphasize that the evolution of artificial intelligence demands stricter compliance efforts from businesses and institutions handling sensitive data.
