EQT Eyes Investment in ElevenLabs Voice-AI

The Scaleup Europe Fund, managed by Swedish private equity group EQT, is in active discussions to invest in the UK-based voice artificial intelligence startup ElevenLabs. The investment vehicle totals five billion euros, which is about 5.8 billion dollars, and includes a one billion euro anchor commitment from the European Commission alongside backing from pension plans, asset managers, and venture capitalists.

ElevenLabs is currently targeting more than 500 million dollars in fresh financing. The startup develops technology that produces natural-sounding voices for applications such as advertisements, audiobooks, customer support centers, and sales training. A previous fundraising round led by Sequoia Capital valued the company at 11 billion dollars, while early conversations regarding a secondary sale have pointed to a potential valuation near 22 billion dollars.

This potential investment highlights how voice artificial intelligence is rapidly transitioning from a novelty into core digital infrastructure, drawing massive amounts of private capital. For investors tracking fast-growing private technology firms, the outcome of these funding talks and the final valuation provide clear indicators of where confidence and capital are flowing within the artificial intelligence sector.
