Dutch AI Chip Startup Euclyd Secures Over €200M in Series A with EIFO Backing
Dutch artificial intelligence chip startup Euclyd has successfully raised over 200 million euros in a Series A financing round. The funding was co-led by Samsung, Somerset Capital Partners, the Scaleup Europe Fund under EQT, and Innovation Industries, with additional participation from the Danish export investment fund EIFO, imec.xpand, BOM, and Quadri.
The company was founded in 2024 at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven in the Netherlands by Bernardo Kastrup and Atul Sinha. Kastrup, who serves as the founder and CEO, previously worked on the Large Hadron Collider's trigger system at CERN, conducted research at Philips Research, and co-founded the parallel processor company Silicon Hive, which Intel later acquired. Sinha is Kastrup's former partner from Silicon Hive, and Kastrup also previously worked as a product strategy director at the lithography giant ASML.
This significant financial backing provides Euclyd with substantial capital to advance its work in the competitive artificial intelligence hardware sector. By securing support from major industry players and international investment funds, the startup is well-positioned to develop its technology and expand its operations from its base in the Netherlands.
