Complir raises $11M from General Catalyst in just three days
Copenhagen-based startup Complir has raised eleven million dollars in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by General Catalyst, alongside support from angel investors and industry funds. The entire round was completed in just three days. This follows a two million dollar pre-seed round closed in December 2025 led by Vendep Capital, bringing the company's total funding to approximately thirteen million dollars in a single year.
Founded in 2024 by Gustav Bang, Tine Kühnel, and Marc Kaa Brejner, the company originally started with two founders and has since expanded to a team of eighteen employees. Complir is developing artificial intelligence infrastructure designed to help companies navigate retail product compliance, targeting a significant market need given that physical products account for a quarter of the European Union gross domestic product.
This funding highlights the growing demand for technological solutions in the compliance software market, which was valued at 35.8 billion dollars in 2025. The rapid financial backing reflects strong investor interest in the startup's approach to simplifying the complex regulatory challenges associated with physical retail products.
