Ozempic-maker turns to Anthropic to turbocharge medical research
The Danish pharmaceutical company Novo has partnered with the American artificial intelligence company Anthropic to accelerate its medical research and drug development. The maker of the popular treatment Ozempic intends to use Anthropic's advanced models and Claude Science software as part of its goal to become the world's most AI-driven healthcare company.
Under this collaboration, the two companies will work together to create new medicines and develop AI-driven software. Leadership at Novo stated that artificial intelligence tools provide entirely new scientific opportunities that can significantly improve the research and development organization.
Specifically, the technology will be used to aid in reasoning and deepen the understanding of human biology and drug mechanics. This initiative is designed to help the company fulfill its mission of delivering new and transformative health solutions to people living with chronic diseases.
