Deutsche Telekom invests in Swedish clinical AI startup Tandem Health
Deutsche Telekom has made a strategic investment in Tandem Health, a Swedish startup that builds a clinical AI assistant. The backing is meant to speed Tandem's rollout across Europe, using sovereign cloud infrastructure. Tandem's clinician-facing AI scribe is already scaling past 10,000 healthcare facilities in 14 countries. The size of the investment is not given.
The same roundup covers three other health-tech deals. Yazen, a Swedish digital weight-management and GLP-1 clinic platform, closed €50 million in funding led by Verdane and Evli Growth Partners. The money is meant to support its expansion across continental Europe.
In the UK, Bristol-based Siloton won an Innovate UK contract worth nearly €10 million (€9.98 million), described as a non-dilutive award. It will advance the company's chip-scale, handheld optical coherence tomography (OCT) eye-imaging system.
Finally, Swedish consumer health tech saw a major consolidation. Audio-sensor specialist Audiowell is acquiring Sleep Cycle in a reverse takeover valued at roughly SEK 2.25 billion.
Taken together, the items show investor and corporate activity in Nordic and European health technology, from clinical AI tools and GLP-1 care platforms to medical imaging hardware and consumer sleep products. For the AI angle in particular, Deutsche Telekom's move signals a large telecom group backing a Nordic clinical AI scribe at a point when it is already used across thousands of facilities, with sovereign cloud infrastructure part of the rollout plan.
