Former Veriff and Wise executives raise €2.9 million for AI-powered career platform
Tallinn-based Roleo has raised €2.9 million for an AI career platform aimed at technology professionals. The round was led by Baltic venture firm Practica Capital, with Nordic investor Inventure also taking part. Angel backers include Bolt founder Markus Villig, Sergei Anikin, Henrik Bohman, Kristina Lilleõis and Lemonade Stand. Total funding to date is €3.46 million.
Roleo was founded by Janer Gorohhov, a co-founder of identity verification company Veriff and now Roleo's CEO, and Vahur Hansen, a member of Wise's early engineering team who also co-founded Membo. Both are Y Combinator alumni.
The product is a personal AI career agent. It learns a user's experience, skills, goals, salary expectations, preferred responsibilities and working conditions, then monitors the European tech job market, including for people who are not actively looking. When it finds a suitable role, it can connect the candidate directly with a hiring manager without a formal application. Users control their visibility, their personal information and whether to pursue any opportunity. The service is free for professionals, while employers get access to candidates they might not reach through conventional recruitment.
Roleo says that since the start of 2026 its agent has connected users with 30,000 opportunities they went on to explore. It evaluates hundreds of thousands of potential opportunities each week and typically selects three matches per user.
The new money will go toward developing the agent and expanding across European markets, starting with technology professionals and employers. The company also plans to go beyond job matching to support users throughout their working lives. Gorohhov says the goal is not for AI to make career decisions, but to make sure people have the right information when those decisions matter. The company positions itself on the candidate side of hiring, a contrast with tools that mainly help employers screen applications.
