Swedish startup Strawberry launches AI browser for non-technical teams
Stockholm-based startup Strawberry has released version 1.0 of its AI browser, taking it out of beta. The product is aimed at workers who do not write code, such as people in sales, marketing, recruitment and customer service. These roles often depend on the same repetitive browser-based tasks but lack the time or technical skills to automate them.
Most AI assistants live in a chat window. Strawberry wants them to work where people already do their jobs, inside the browser, with access to the tabs, tools and accounts they use every day. The company calls its assistants "companions". Users train them to handle specific jobs, and the company says they learn how a team works over time.
The beta first opened in October 2025 to 10,000 people who had signed up in advance, according to Ny Teknik. Downloads opened to everyone in mid-February, and the 1.0 release follows.
Strawberry was founded by Maddock together with chief operating officer Sebastian Thunman and chief technology officer Arian Hanifi. The company has 12 people. It raised $6 million in October 2025 in a round co-led by General Catalyst and EQT Ventures, with the founders of Lovable, Supabase and Hugging Face also investing.
The launch is a Nordic attempt to move AI assistance out of the chat window and into everyday work software for people outside technical roles, backed by prominent European and international investors.
