Swedish startup Strawberry launches AI agent platform and preps Series A funding round

Strawberry, a Stockholm-based startup, has launched version 1.0 of its AI agent platform, which is built for non-technical teams such as sales, recruiting, customer support and marketing. The company has raised $6 million from EQT and General Catalyst and plans to follow the launch with a Series A funding round.

The platform is organised around "companions," AI agents that a team brings in much like colleagues. A companion is trained once, and then everyone on the team gets it, along with everything it has learned. Strawberry's pitch is that this fixes a common problem: today, the person who is skilled with a tool like Claude tends to keep that knowledge and setup on their own laptop, so the rest of the team does not benefit.

CEO and co-founder Charles Maddock says the technology is already capable, noting that agents can now work for weeks in a row. The obstacle, in his view, is adoption, since many companies struggle to get teams to use these tools. Strawberry says it built a product that is pleasant enough for teams to adopt naturally.

Yuri Sagalov, a partner at General Catalyst, says the browser is quickly becoming the front line for AI and that the Strawberry team is at the centre of that shift.

The launch matters as an example of Nordic startups targeting the gap between what AI agents can do and how well ordinary business teams actually use them, with backing from two well-known investors ahead of a larger funding round.
