AI mentioned far more often in Danish job ads

The share of Danish job ads that mention artificial intelligence has risen sharply in two years. A new analysis from the job portal Jobsearch.dk found that AI appeared in 1.68 percent of Danish job ads in September 2024. By September 2026 that figure had reached 4.29 percent, an increase of 155 percent and the highest level in the period studied.

Most of the growth has come this year. In January 2026, 2.53 percent of job ads mentioned AI, and the share climbed to 4.29 percent by September. Thomas Barfod, CEO of Jobsearch.dk, called the development remarkable for how quickly it is accelerating. He said it shows demand for AI skills rising fast in the Danish labour market, and suggested AI is taking on a nearly explosive role in companies' everyday work.

The analysis is based on job ads that Jobsearch.dk continuously collects from Danish companies' websites, covering September 2024 to September 2026.

There is an important limit to what the numbers show. Mentioning AI in an ad is not the same as requiring applicants to be able to work with the technology. The analysis measures only how often AI appears in the ads. It does not document how many employers actually demand AI competence from candidates.

The finding matters as an indicator of how far AI has entered Danish employers' thinking about the skills they want, even though it cannot say how many of those mentions translate into concrete requirements.
