Nordic finance leaders weigh how much responsibility to give AI at CCH Tagetik inTouch 2026
At CCH Tagetik Nordics inTouch 2026, Nordic finance leaders focused on a shift in the AI conversation. The question is no longer whether AI will become part of finance operations but how much responsibility it should be given. The event also dealt with uneven levels of digital maturity across organizations and with the need for trust and control.
Fortum, the energy company, was presented as one example. It developed an AI strategy and roadmap, piloted AI use cases, and set up an AI governance process aimed at realizing business value. Its approach relies on embedded AI from platform providers, CCH Tagetik among them, instead of building everything in-house.
Niklas Öhrström, Associate Director, Strategic Accounts for Wolters Kluwer CCH Tagetik, described the change in thinking this way: the discussion is moving from where finance can use AI to where it can be trusted with greater responsibility. In his view, the opportunity lies in identifying the processes where AI can deliver value while accuracy, data quality, governance, and accountability are maintained.
This matters because Nordic finance teams are now deciding how far and how quickly to scale AI. According to Öhrström, those four conditions will be critical to that decision. The takeaway from the event is that expanding AI's role in finance depends less on whether the technology can be applied and more on whether organizations can keep control and trust in the results as responsibility grows.
