Copenhagen legal startups Pandektes and Juristic raise seed funding
Two Copenhagen legal-tech startups, Pandektes and Juristic, have each raised seed funding.
Pandektes raised €2.9 million from People Ventures, Interface Capital and a group of Nordic angel investors. The company has built an AI-driven platform that helps legal professionals research case law, legislation and legal insights across multiple jurisdictions. It will use the money to extend the platform's coverage across the EU, with the aim of building a centralized legal database that integrates rulings.
Juristic raised $1 million in a seed round from Ugly Duckling Ventures, Jonatan Hjortdal and serial entrepreneur Jens Bang Liebs. The startup focuses on visualizing and automating legal processes within the legal industry. It plans to use the funds to accelerate its growth, strengthen its market position, improve its product offerings, and pursue expansion in Europe. It was founded by Christian Hjortshøj and Kean, whose full name is cut off in the source text.
The roundup also carries a short note on a separate US-focused company whose platform uses intelligent matching technology to connect individuals with qualified attorneys. It is aimed at gaps in America's $385 billion legal services market, where 92% of low-income Americans lack adequate legal representation. Another item is listed under July 16, 2025: AI legal startup Covenant raising $4 million.
Together, the rounds show investor interest in AI tools for legal work, both for research across European legal systems and for automating legal processes, with Copenhagen as the base for both companies.
