There’s no stopping Legora – €489 million for Stockholm’s LegalTech Unicorn
Legora, the Stockholm-based agentic operating system for legal professionals, has raised a €489 million ($550 million) Series E at a post-money valuation of €7.8 billion ($8.8 billion). Atreides Management led the round, with new investors Baron Capital, Capital Research, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Glade Brook Capital Partners joining. Every major existing backer is also taking part, including Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Partners, Redpoint, Salesforce Ventures and Sands Capital. The article gives the previous round's valuation as €4.9 billion ($5.6 billion), though it also describes an April 2026 Series D extension at €4.7 billion.
Founded in 2023, Legora supports lawyers with research, review and drafting on complex matters. It has more than 1,000 employees in 18 offices and is used by over 140,000 legal professionals at more than 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams in over 80 markets. ARR went from $1 million to $100 million in under 18 months, allegedly faster than any other enterprise software company selling through a direct sales team, and the next $100 million took under six months. ARR now exceeds $200 million (€178 million).
The US is now its largest market by revenue, even though its first US office opened only in spring 2025. More than half of the AmLaw 50 are customers. In-house legal teams, a small share of customers a year ago, made up over 40% of new customers in the third quarter.
The money will fund expansion in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, and deeper investment in the Legora aOS, including new products such as agentic intake, horizon scanning and legal research. Legora has also been acquiring companies, among them London-based Wexler, its fifth acquisition of 2026.
CEO Max Junestrand says the company intends to lead the shift in how AI changes the lawyer's role. CFO David Eckstein stresses healthy gross margins and high retention. For context, other 2026 European legal AI rounds, including Wordsmith, Orbital, Lawhive, Lexroom and Copenhagen's Pandektes (€13.5 million), total about €237.7 million, rising to €726.7 million with Legora's round.
