Danish startup Plinto raises €2.9M to streamline financial controls
Copenhagen-based AI startup Plinto has raised €2.9 million from investors People Ventures and Emblem. The company will use the money to develop its AI-powered financial transaction monitoring platform further, grow its base of enterprise customers and take its first steps into international markets.
Plinto was founded in early 2025 by Jakob Nielsen, Nermina Suljevic and Sebastian Rehnby. It builds AI agents that help companies identify and resolve errors in financial transactions.
The platform automates checks that finance teams typically carry out by hand. Those checks are meant to ensure that transactions comply with contracts, budgets and internal policies. The company describes its approach as building AI agents that find deviations, investigate them and take action, so that errors actually get fixed rather than just flagged.
The round is a notable early backing for a Danish startup that is less than two years old and is aiming at the finance function of larger companies, where manual transaction control is still common. The funding is meant to carry Plinto from its Copenhagen base into markets abroad while it builds out the product and signs more enterprise customers.
