Danish startup secures €2.9 million pre-seed to automate invoice checks and prevent duplicate payments
Copenhagen-based startup Plinto has raised €2.9 million in pre-seed funding from People Ventures, Emblem and a group of business angels. The money will go toward developing its AI-powered financial controlling platform. The company was founded in 2025.
Plinto builds AI agents that connect to a business's existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, documents, banking tools and communication platforms. The agents check invoices, orders and payments against contracts, budgets and internal policies, with the aim of catching problems such as duplicate payments.
When the agents find a discrepancy, they investigate the relevant information and help coordinate the follow-up. That can include sending supplier queries, requesting credit notes and proposing transaction corrections, which require approval before they go through.
Cofounder Jakob Nielsen describes the problem as a gap between recording and verifying. Companies have systems that log every transaction, he says, but checking whether those transactions match agreements and rules is still largely manual. Plinto's agents are meant to find deviations, investigate them and act, so that errors actually get fixed rather than just flagged.
The funding gives a young Danish company resources to build out a product aimed at a routine finance task that many businesses still handle by hand. The source text does not list the sectors Plinto serves or give details on customers, pricing or how the money will be allocated.
