Plinto raises DKK 22 million for AI agents in finance controlling

Copenhagen-based startup Plinto has raised DKK 22 million to build AI agents for finance controlling, the work of checking that a company's transactions match its agreements and rules.

Plinto's co-founder Jakob Nielsen describes the problem this way: companies have systems that record every single transaction, but verifying that those transactions actually comply with contracts and rules is still largely manual. Plinto is building AI agents that do more than flag deviations. According to Nielsen, they also investigate them and take action so the errors get corrected.

The company is targeting what the source calls a paradox in many larger finance functions. Data flows in real time, but control does not. Transactions are often checked only as spot samples or at month-end close, which means errors can already have turned into payments by the time anyone notices them.

The source gives no further detail on the funding round, such as who invested, or on how the product works, which customers use it or how far along the company is.
