Nvidia investing heavily in Europe, with Swedish AI startups in focus

Nvidia is expanding its activity in Europe, and the Nordics, Sweden in particular, are one of its focus areas. Beyond France and the UK, the company highlighted how startups and technology companies across the region are building products on its computing platforms and open models, in applications ranging from intellectual property management to autonomous transportation.

One development involves Sweden AI Factory, one of Europe's 19 AI factories funded by EuroHPC. It announced a collaboration with Nvidia to open its infrastructure and expertise to startups and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Several Swedish companies were named as examples. Stockholm-based Stilta uses Nvidia's Nemotron models to analyse patent portfolios, helping businesses keep track of intellectual property across large numbers of patents. Agaton applies similar technology to real-time sales intelligence. Klang, a Swedish speech technology company, has developed Pianissimo, a transcription model trained on more than 50,000 hours of Swedish speech.

Together, the examples show Nvidia tying its European push to local startups and to publicly funded AI infrastructure, with Sweden's AI Factory giving smaller companies access to computing resources and expertise they might otherwise lack. The excerpt gives no figures on the size of Nvidia's investment or the terms of the collaboration.
