Holyvolt raises $45m and Solvera $6.3m in Nordic AI funding

Holyvolt, a Swedish startup that uses AI to discover battery materials, raised $45m from Fifth Wall, Zone II and CC.VC. It is the largest of the funding rounds in this roundup of AI and venture deals.

In Norway, Oslo-based Solvera, which applies AI to construction engineering, raised $6.3m in pre-seed funding. Seedcamp led the round, with participation from Construct Venture, Inception Fund, Momentum, Obos Ventures, PSV Tech, Sondo and The Nordic Web Ventures.

The roundup also lists several deals outside the Nordics. Sirona Medical, a San Francisco-based provider of radiology software, raised $40m in Series D funding. Avidity Partners led, joined by 8VC, GreatPoint Ventures and KLT Holdings. Seragy, a German biomarker startup, raised €12m from Commerzbank, the MB and the State of Lower Saxony. Shamrock AI, an Indian data testing platform for agentic AI, raised $5m in seed funding, led by Endiya Partners with Capria Ventures also participating.

For the Nordic AI scene, the two relevant items are Holyvolt's $45m raise, which shows sizeable backing from international investors for Swedish AI work in materials science and energy, and Solvera's pre-seed round, which brings a mix of European and Nordic investors into an early-stage Norwegian company working on construction. The excerpt gives no further detail on valuations, products or how the money will be used.
