Employees in big cities most fear being replaced by AI
A new survey from Dansk Industri (DI), carried out with the polling firm Epinion, looks at how many Danes worry about losing their job to artificial intelligence. Epinion ran the survey, and DI made the remaining calculations. The article was published on 14 October in the work-life section of a Danish outlet and written by journalist Mikkel Berg.
The main finding is that the worry is concentrated in the big cities. Employees in the largest cities are the most afraid of being replaced by AI.
The wider picture is much calmer. Most Danish employees do not feel threatened by the technology: three out of four do not expect to lose their job to AI.
The experts quoted in the article say the fear in the cities is understandable but overblown. The available text does not include their reasoning, nor does it give the exact percentages for individual cities or regions, the size of the sample, or details on which types of jobs or workers are most concerned.
The survey matters because it shows a gap between how worried people in urban workplaces are and how much risk the experts see. It also shows that, for the Danish labour market as a whole, job loss to AI is not a widespread personal concern.
