Danish agency launches online guides to EU digital regulations

The Danish Agency for Digital Government (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen) has launched two new online guides to help businesses find their way through EU digital regulation. The headline question the agency poses is whether a company struggles to navigate EU rules in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data protection and digital platforms.

The first tool is a legislation guide covering the rules on AI, data protection, cybersecurity, digital markets, digital services and financial digital resilience. It was built in close cooperation with the authorities that are responsible for digital regulation. The second is a guide to the EU Data Act, which explains the rules that apply to connected products that collect data when they are in use.

The stated purpose is to give businesses a better starting point for identifying which rules and requirements are relevant to them. The agency stresses that the guides do not replace a company's own assessment of its obligations or of how to comply with them.

More guides are on the way. Like the Data Act guide, they will cover the regulations that fall under the agency's remit, for example the AI Act and the Digital Services Act.

The article is an excerpt, so it does not give further detail on how the guides work or when the additional ones will appear. For Danish businesses, the tools offer a single place to begin sorting out which parts of a growing body of EU digital law apply to them.
