Copenhagen’s TODAY raises €2.8 million to bring compliant AI agents to financial and insurance advisors

TODAY, a Copenhagen-based startup that sells an AI sales operating system to financial and insurance advisors, has raised €2.8 million in Seed funding. The round was co-led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and InsurTech Gateway, with SeedX, Lucid Capital, former HDI CEO Herbert Rogenhofer and Tech11 founder Pierre Dubosq also participating. It comes more than a year after a €1 million pre-Seed round.

The company was founded in 2024 by Michael Gackstatter, now CEO, and Artem Demchenkov. Gackstatter was a founding team member and CPO at CLARK, described as Europe's only profitable InsurTech unicorn, and Demchenkov was CTO of Billie, a European buy-now-pay-later startup.

The platform supports advisors before, during and after client meetings. Its assistant transcribes meetings in real time, anonymised and with no audio stored, and generates IDD-compliant documentation from the advisor's own templates. A real-time assist feature suggests objection-handling responses and next-best-action prompts during live calls, and AskTODAY lets advisors search their whole conversation history by chat. A separate simulation product lets advisors hold voice conversations with configurable AI customers across DISC personality profiles, earning IDD continuing education credits. The company's agents also handle routine back-office tasks, answer incoming calls and coach advisors on sales performance.

The raise comes as advisors face pension reforms, faster market consolidation and tighter compliance requirements. HTGF's Tizian Hoppen said technological and demographic shifts are making financial services sales more complex, and that the founders are building the vertical AI layer to remove that friction.

Since launch, TODAY has grown to more than 3,500 advisors across large insurers, distributors and independent brokers in the DACH region. The new funding will go toward developing and rolling out its agentic AI platform to cover the entire front and back office across DACH.
