Tek Norge calls national budget AI funding too weak

Tek Norge has criticized the government's proposed national budget, arguing that the funding allocated for artificial intelligence is far too weak. While the organization acknowledges positive elements in the budget presented to the Storting, its leadership warns that current financial measures fall short of what is necessary for proper technological development.

Managing Director Øyvind Husby of Tek Norge expressed specific concern that an allocation of 26 million is insufficient to guarantee digital security for municipalities. He also criticized the complete lack of funding dedicated to digital transformation within the private business sector.

Despite these negative reactions, Husby praised certain aspects of the budget proposal. He welcomed the increased backing for KI Norge to provide guidance and security for the public sector, the implementation of labor tax relief, and an increase to 451 million for strengthening the digital foundation and electronic communications infrastructure.
