Novo hackers explain how they use AI to target major companies

The media outlet Ingeniøren has conducted a direct interview with a representative from FulcrumSec, the hacktivist group responsible for a cyberattack against Novo in the spring. During weeks of communication, the hacker detailed how the group operates and utilizes artificial intelligence to target major companies.

The hacker expressed no remorse for the attack on Novo, arguing that the group does not cause real material damage because they do not use ransomware to encrypt systems or destroy infrastructure. Instead, they claim the primary damage is reputational, which they view as justified punishment for what they describe as embarrassingly poor corporate security standards.

This unusual justification and adherence to a bizarre ethical code highlight an emerging type of cybercriminal actor. Cybersecurity experts point out that interactions like this provide a rare and concerning glimpse into the mindset and methods of active groups targeting critical businesses using modern technological tools.
