DNB kutter 400 årsverk

Norwegian bank DNB is cutting 400 full-time equivalent positions as part of a major reorganization within its technology and services department. The layoffs are scheduled to be carried out before the end of the year.

The reduction is driven by the implementation of artificial intelligence, which has taken over various processes and tasks previously handled manually. According to the bank, the technological shift aims to improve customer experiences, increase efficiency, and meet future customer needs as part of a broader corporate transition.

Chief Executive Officer Kjerstin Braathen states that artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing how the bank operates and delivers services. She notes that DNB is already seeing significant benefits from the new technology and is therefore adapting its organization to this new reality, while promising that the downsizing process will be handled in an orderly manner.
