Finnish startup secures $6 million seed to expand its M&A intelligence platform across global markets
Helsinki-based startup Comparables.ai has secured six million dollars in seed funding to expand its artificial intelligence-powered mergers and acquisitions intelligence platform globally. The investment round was led by Pragmatech Venture Capital and Araya Ventures, with participation from Purple Ventures, Gorilla Capital, hi5 Ventures, Somersault Ventures, and other investors.
The platform is designed for corporate development teams, private equity firms, M&A advisors, and investment banks. It combines a dataset covering over 370 million active companies with an AI-driven discovery engine. The system integrates private company financials, group structures, valuation data, past transactions, and verified contacts to map markets in minutes.
The company was founded by Niko Nalli, Markus Vesala, Martin Kangasniemi, and Chief Technology Officer Muhammad Ammad-ud-din, bringing together expertise in financial markets, deal origination, and applied machine learning. The platform is already used by more than 50,000 professionals across over 30 countries.
Comparables.ai addresses information asymmetry and visibility problems in the mid-market dealmaking sector by allowing users to search markets using descriptive queries rather than relying solely on legacy filter-based tools or closed networks. The new capital will be used to support multi-market expansion and further develop the company artificial intelligence engine as enterprise customers increase their deployments.
