New legislative guide helps Danish businesses navigate EU digital laws

The Danish Agency for Digitalisation has launched a new legislative guide designed to help businesses navigate complex digital laws from the European Union. In recent years, the volume of rules concerning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data, and data protection has grown significantly, creating new demands and confusion for Danish companies regarding which regulations apply to their specific operations.

The online tool functions through a questionnaire format. By answering questions about their company and its activities, business owners receive an initial overview of relevant regulations, central compliance requirements, and the responsible regulatory authorities. DI Digital contributed to the development of the tool by providing member input and participating in workshops alongside the Agency for Digitalisation to ensure the practical needs of businesses were met.

Many companies currently spend excessive time simply identifying which rules apply to them, making the guide a practical step toward reducing administrative burdens. While the tool serves as a helpful starting point for clarifying applicable legislation, representatives from DI Digital emphasize that ongoing efforts to simplify rules are still necessary at both the national and European levels.
