Regeringens mål for kunstig intelligens udfordrer velfærden
The government has made artificial intelligence a central part of its reform agenda, aiming to deliver faster and better public service and administration through a massive investment in the technology. According to the government platform, this technological push is expected to free up at least 30,000 full-time equivalents in the public sector.
Calculations underlying these goals break public sector tasks down by time to estimate personnel savings. These figures indicate that the widespread implementation of artificial intelligence could eliminate the need for thousands of public employees, including around 9,000 teachers in public schools.
Former economic wiser and professor Carl-Johan Dalgaard points out that this ambitious target challenges the current welfare society. The substantial reduction in personnel raises concerns about how essential public welfare services will be maintained if thousands of positions are removed based on anticipated efficiency gains from artificial intelligence.
