Monthio-founder med profiler ombord bygger europæisk AI med færre chips – skal testes på Gefion

A co-founder of the Danish fintech company Monthio has launched a new European artificial intelligence laboratory focused on developing models that require significantly less computing power, memory, and chips than standard systems. This initiative grew out of earlier work at Monthio, which raised seventy-five million kroner roughly two years ago, including fifty million kroner from the Danish Export and Investment Fund, EIFO.

Several prominent business figures and startup investors contributed the remaining capital for that venture, including Jakob Ekkelund from Templafy, Rikke Kjær Nielsen from EQT, Hans Henrik Hoffmeyer, Glenn Söderholm, Klaus Holse, and Carlsberg CEO Jacob Aarup-Andersen. The newly developed artificial intelligence models from this lab are scheduled to be tested on Gefion, a prominent supercomputer system.

This development matters because artificial intelligence models typically consume massive amounts of computing power and hardware resources. By finding a method to build efficient European artificial intelligence with fewer chips and reduced compute time, the project addresses major infrastructure and resource bottlenecks in the current technology landscape.
