Norway mulling temporary ban on smart AI glasses
The Norwegian government has proposed a temporary ban on smart artificial intelligence glasses in response to growing privacy concerns. Under the proposal, the country's parliament could enact the ban before reaching a final decision on the technology.
The restriction would target locations where privacy is especially crucial, including healthcare facilities and fitness center changing rooms and showers. It would also focus heavily on areas where children gather, such as schools and kindergartens.
The minister of digitalization and public governance, Torgeir Micaelsen, raised alarms about the rise of new technology capable of secretly photographing, filming, or recording audio of individuals without their knowledge.
