AI cloud startup Verda raises $189m in Series B funding round
The artificial intelligence cloud startup Verda, formerly known as DataCrunch, has raised 189 million dollars in a Series B funding round. This latest financial backing brings the company's total funding to more than 450 million dollars, following a previous funding round of 117 million dollars in April 2026. The recent round was supported by investors including byFounders, Tesi, and a group of angel investors that features Ola Tørudbakken and Mark Saroufim.
Founded in 2020, Verda operates data centers that rely entirely on renewable energy. Its current facilities are located in Finland and in Reykjanesbær, Iceland. In addition to these existing sites, the company has planned further locations across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Asia. These expansion efforts include detailed plans released in September for a new data center project in the Hanhela area of the Pyhäjoki municipality in Finland.
